GYPSIES, TRAMPS ‘n’ THIEVES
Well, I guess that brings to mind some very definite thoughts and some curiousity as to why this name for our site. Simple. Getting past the derrogatory connotations of the names, we thought the terms somewhat described us. For that matter… many of you.
We love to travel a bit off the beaten path. We love to experience the flavor of each area we visit and allow some adventure to enrich our explorations. Living in a major city could make this difficult until you surrender to the concept that it’s not the destination, but the journey which makes all the difference.
When you live in a large city, every path has already been beaten down. It’s easy to get online and find the Top 10 Rated Hotels, Restaurants, or Hot Nite Spots. Tourists clamour from all over to visit. Let’s not throw out all those Top Ratings. After all, they did get notoriety for a reason. Let’s just not plan our lives around what someone else says is a ‘must do’ or a ‘must see’.
So the path we look for within our neighborhoods and streets reaches beyond what tries to pass as a representation of the area. We want to savor the flavor of each place we visit…taking in the current scenery…digging deeper to find what once occupied the same spot.
